Applicants who are applying for visas must submit a request using our online registration form, or by e-mail to appointkiev@state.gov.
The non-immigrant visa interview will be scheduled for the first available date or for any other available date the applicant requests that is available. Applicants may expect to be notified of their interview date and time within two business days.
Due to the limited number of interview appointments available on any given day, the Consular Section may not be able to honor a specific request, particularly during peak seasons. In such cases, the Consular Section will contact the applicant by e-mail to determine another date that meets the needs of the applicant.

EXPEDITED PROCESS
To receive an expedited EVAF appointment, applicants must complete the EVAF at http://evisaforms.state.gov, print the form, and request an EVAF appointment on this page or via appointkiev@state.gov. This request must include the EVAF alphanumeric code (on page three of the application above the bar code). Applicants need to bring all three pages of the signed visa application to his/her visa interview.

When you visit one of the selected ProCredit Bank branches in Kyiv, you will receive a smart card (a small plastic card containing a computer chip) with a paper receipt in exchange for your payment. This smart card will be scanned at the Consular Section to confirm payment and one receipt will be retained with the visa application.
At ProCredit Bank, a visa applicant (or someone acting on the applicant’s behalf) must present the applicant’s passport number and name as written in the applicant’s international passport, together with the hryvnia-equivalent of $100. The transaction takes just minutes and can be done at the applicant’s convenience any business day prior to the visa interview date. This will streamline applicants’ visa application processing and save applicants time at the Consular Section.
The new MRV payment system has many advantages:
- Applicants do not need to pay in person. Friends, colleagues or family members can make the payment at ProCredit Bank on the applicant’s behalf. The bank tellers only need the applicant’s name, as written in his or her international passport, and passport number.
- The transaction takes only minutes.
- There are no banking fees assessed for this service.
- The smart card is active for six months. Thus, applicants may make their payment days before their visa interview, if they wish.
- Applicants no longer have to pay the visa application fee in U.S. dollars, as was required at the U.S. Embassy. The payment to ProCredit Bank will only be accepted in hryvnias, as required by Ukrainian law. The U.S. Embassy sets the exchange rate.
